ASG Regional Meeting

I attended the ASG Region One meeting this weekend in Burlington, NJ.  We stayed in this quaint conference center located on Hight St. What a wonderful time we had discussing planning and program ideas for our respective chapters.  I decided to write about this weekend because if it had not been for my affiliation with the American Sewing Guild our paths would probably not crossed.  ASG is comprised of wonderful members from all ages and walks of life.  Varied social, political, financial, and religious backgrounds make up our wonderful group.  We discussed the many benefits that membership offers (discounts at over 60 different merchants, Joann Fabrics, Hancocks, and many, many on-line sewing-related vendors).  We had a pajama fashion show and, of course, show n tell!  There were pillows, gowns, pjs, jackets, purses, dresses, tissue box covers, quilts (hand and machine sewn), just to name of a few of the beautiful items on display.

I believe the best benefit of ASG is the friendships that blossom!  I met most of these wonderful ladies last year at my first Region One meeting.  When I arrived and saw those familar faces, it felt like a family reunion!  Our meeting organizer, Rosemary,  the President of the Philadelphia Chapter planned a wonderful and informative weekend.  We visited some quaint fabric and quilt shops close by the Conference Center.  Just Make it Sew, Olde City Quilts, and
If you don't belong to the American Sewing Guild, please check us out  It's a wonderful organization, most importantly, a great group of sewing sisters!
