PA ASG Sewing Camp

Wow what a great weekend! 14 enthusiastic sewers came together at Eastern University in St. David, PA. Tracey Guy of the PA Chapter of ASG did a fantastic job of organizing the event. Pat Boyer made cute little dress favors for each of us. We spent 4 1/2 days creating garments, tote bags, quilts, hook rugs, embroidery, and crocheting. Phyllis, came with a truckload of sewing goodies that were donated buy the daughter of an elderly person who no longer sewed. Here are a few pics. I think Candance (orange jacket) did the most sewing! Some of us sewed all night long! I lasted til 4 am on Friday, LOL. Everyone was so nice and willing to help and share ideas and sewing expertise.  On Frida, they took us to the famous "Fabric Mart" fabric shop.  What great bargins they had.  I receive emails from them, but it's nothing like actually seeing and touching the fabric.  Plus there are great sales that are not posted on the site.  On this day, most of the fabric was 50% off.  I bought a piece of stretch silk for 25 cents a yd!!!!  I'm already looking forward to next years' camp!

love the razor back!!!!!!

I fused the edges with fusi-knit and used the cover stitch, turned out great!
These cute name badges and dress favors awaited us!
Candance really cranked out some garments!  This jacket is from a Threads tutorial.
I really used my cover stitch this weekend!
This lady came all the way from Phoenix to attend the retreat with her sister!  That's love!

This is a closeup of the neckline of the top below, love that cover stitch
I bought this fabric on Friday at Fabric Mart, its a lightweight wool cotton.  I think it was $4-$5.  I washed it in the machine on delicate and stitched it up on Saturday!  McCalls 6400

I live near St. David's PA! I would have loved to attend the sewing camp. Can you give me more info about PA ASG. Maybe I can attend next year's camp.
