Graduation

This is my first GD Naija!  She graduated from middle school today! It seems like yesterday that she was born! She is wearing McCalls 6027 view A.  I used a silky solid peach with cut outs from Joann's.  I underlined the dress with a peach satin from Walmart.  I also used the satin for the godets and piping.  The dress fabric worked well with the peach underlining, it was just the right amount of pop!  The pictures don't capture it. :(  I was very pleased with the finished product.  The pattern was very simple and the directions were straightforward.  I omitted the partial lining since I underlined the entire dress.  I used a size 12/14 with minor adjustments.  That girl has the "Jones" boobs!!!!  LOL

Congrats to the Class of 2013!!!!

Awww, look at those cute kids! Congrats to your GD!

Such a pretty dress! I especially like how the underlining peeks out at the edges to look like satin piping. Or is it actual piping or bias? Anyway, it makes such a nice contrast with the matte fabric!

Gail! Thanks so much! Yes that is piping....it's also the underling for the entire dress.
