Time to think

Since my husband's 2nd heart attack on November 30 and subsequent triple by-pass surgery on December 5 I have given a lot of thought to life.  Life is truly precious and letting those around you know how you feel is so important.  Everyone in your circle matters!!!!  Each of us has a purpose.  The hurdles in life, I believe, are placed there to bring us back to reality!!!  Whoa! Wait a minute, you are not in charge!!!!!  Slow down smell the roses instead of stirring up stink!!!! Smile and hug  instead of scream and yell!  Don't sweat the small stuff!!!!  Proclaim the good news!!!  If you don't have anything good to say, then don't say anything at all.

My husband is back home and fortunate to be in recovery.  Over the past couple of years we have known far too many that didn't get this luxury!!!!!  We are feeling blessed right now and we vow to not let this feeling fade away with the time of healing.  I have always had a sort of unconditional love relationship with my daughters!  They are not perfect, but I love them no matter what.  My husband surprised me yesterday and told me he wanted to now adopt that kind of relationship with his two children.  He is realizing that life is too short to sweat the small stuff!!!!  He is grateful for this second chance, literally!!!!!  He is seeking a closeness with his children that I pray will come and last!!

I've been told this first two weeks will be full of ups and downs.  I'm not worried, I've got a Savior who has never, never, ever let me down.  He has carried me through some scary storms in my life---but he has never ever failed me.  So I'll lean not on my own understanding through this life event.  I know that this two shall pass.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year filled with the love and blessings that only family can bring!!!!  It's not about what you have!

Love you all!!

I am so happy for you that your husband has come through this. We all need to evaluate our life and relationships; great reminder. Thank you for posting this. I truly glean a lot from other sewist blogs and not just always about sewing!!!
Happy Holidays to you and your family.
