The best sewing tip that I use is: Place a piece of white paper behind the eye of the sewing machine needle. It makes the hole of the needle pop. It is so easy to thread the needle. I don't need my magnifying glass when I place a piece of white paper behind the eye of the needle.
First off, CONGRATS on 100 followers! That is a milestone indeed. The one tip I have is: preparation. Decide what you're going to sew. Check IN ADVANCED to see if you have: enough fabric, correct fabric, proper thread. If you don't have a sewing room, is your sewing space cleared? The more prepared you are in advanced, the smoother things go....even when you have a hiccup. :-)
Congratulations!!!
Congratulations on th 100 blogger followers ... always great to see! The best tip I have to offer is to use hair bobby pins to hold a skirt or dress hem in place to see if it is the length that suits you. Fold your hem up to the correct length, then just push the bobby pins on to hold it in place. And they are easy to jiggle around if you need to adjust ... works every time ... J
Don't sew sleepy... Or drunk
Congratulations Tee! My tip is not to sew when you're not feeling the inspiration. Oh, and never sew on what you consider ugly fabric either... and I agree with Wannasew about getting organized.
One of my favorite tips when using my serger, is placing my finger behind the presser foot intermittently as the fabric feeds through . It prevents knits from stretching. Awesome giveaway.
Congrats I hope I get there soon! My tip: Place a one inch piece of fusible interfacing onto the seam allowance of your zipper. It will create stability for the zipper and make it easier to sew in. Also always lay your zipper on a flat surface when pinning in and basting.
Congratulations!!!! Confetti & cupcakes for you.
Congratulations! What a great milestone! And well-deserved! :)
My best sewing tip is to only sew things you love!
Instead of investing in "another" sewing foot for sewing vinyl or leather, simply adhere a piece of scotch magic tap to the bottom of your regular sewing foot. It will glide over your material. (Blogger did not cooperate when I originally tried to post this tip, but CONGRATULATIONS on your 100+ followers!)
