A legend is struggling...

I saw a very poignant interview of B. Smith and her husband, Dan Gasby, by Al Roker.  B. Smith, the beautiful model, restaurateur, and to many of us the "Black Martha Stewart" has been stricken with the dreaded Alzheimer's disease.  I heard she was suffering from the disease, and it became real when the story broke about her being missing in New York for 17 hours.  The interview with Al was touching!  B vowed to fight the disease and her strong, faithful husband, Dan, championed her on!!!!  My prayers go out to her and her family.  I used to watch her show when I was younger.  She never got the National acclaim I felt she deserved!!  Last month while looking through the pattern bin at "A Fabric Place" I found this gem and had to have it.  So glad I purchased  it.

I found these images of past pattern covers that B graced.

Here's a video of one of her shows.

thank you for sharing about Ms B. I can't recall now how I heard about her condition, only that it saddened me. Thank you for digging out the pattern covers - brought back good memories!

I saw her on the today show and it broke my heart. She is truly one of the great beauties of our time. And she is smart and gracious too, a wonderful woman. I am so sad to hear this.
