Busy, Busy, Weekend!

My weekend was busy with all things sewing! On Saturday, I watched Sewing With Nancy before attending my monthly SewSewSisterhood ASG meeting. We were taught to insert a fly-front zipper using the Peggy Sagers method. It was fast and easy to learn. It really looked professional. After a wonderful lunch with one of my SewSewSisters, I went to Joanns and bought a pretty navy stretch suiting to make my 10 yr old GD a skirt for church on Sunday. I know, I'm a last minute annie sometimes. I was up until 1 am completing it and it turned out beautifully. She recently became a Jr Catholic Daughter and had to wear a white top and navy skirt. Since they had 50% off coupons, I bought some white silk dupioni.
On Sunday, I had to adjust the elastic when she came by in the morning to get it on the way to church. Yes, last minute annie. It's hard to find simple looking girls clothing these days.
After church, I had meetings with 3 prom girls. I'm making the gowns using Wildginger Software. I drew up, printed, cut out and sewed one girl's sloper; it fit perfectly. I'll start working on her gown and post pics as it progresses.
