In her Easter finest...

Happy Easter!  He is Risen!

I decided to make this Vintage Vogue pattern for my Easter Outfit. I haven't made myself an Easter dress in years, so I wanted it to be special.  Easter's in March are typically on the cooldish side in Baltimore so I choose a wool crepe from my stash.  I purchased this lush yellow fabric at Stone Mountain & Daughter, in San Francisco about 4 years ago while attending my first ASG Conference.  The instructions say to underline each piece, that worked for me as this had a bit of a stretch.  I used china silk for the underlining (helped eliminate the stretch and feels like butter against my skin as this dress is not lined) and then serged around each  pattern piece after all markings were made. Oh, I used a size 12 pattern and did a FBA and sliced the back and added a 1" piece in the middle to give me a little more room in the back.  I am completely satisfied with the results, although the hem looks horrible inside---I started this dress yesterday (Saturday) and worked on it until 4 am Easter Sunday morning.  I know, we sewers love working under the gun.  I had to finish because I purchased a beautiful yellow, white, and gold shirt and a brand new tie for my hubby so that we could match!  I promise to redo the hem before I put it in the cleaners.  Now back to prom sewing.

I don't know why I'm standing so funny, LOL
