I feel like we have taken a hundred thousand steps backwards....black lives matter. Why is that so hard...we toiled this land in slavery to make it what it is today!!!! We just can't get a break!!! All the way back to Emmit Till, my black brothers have had this stigma attached to them. Dogs, water hoses, shootings, lynchings----why why why!!! Don't get me wrong all police are not bad, my best friend in the world is a police officer--so I am not speaking about them all. Just the racist, cowardly ones that make my daughter afraid for my grandson who is only 12 to go out alone. She's had to tell him what to do if the police stop you, while trying to also let him know that the police are there to help.
I was overwhelmed with joy when thousands of youth peacefully protested in my hometown, Baltimore, yesterday. Everyone was kind and demonstrated what a true protest is.
I am PRAYING for peace and change in this racist America. I pray that voters will do something about this in the polls. Yes, I do believe it starts at the top.
If you are not black or a person of color, you will never have to worry about this for your sons, husbands, brothers, uncles, and grandfathers.
White America gets to kill and murder and then be escorted out with a bullet-proof vest to jail.
NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE

I pray this atrocity will open eyes and lead to real change. Hopefully November will help address the inequality, but we need to start making a difference now. Please know that many of us who recognize our privilege are doing much soul searching on how we have fallen short in the past and what we will commit to do in the future.
It's a stain on our country. It has been here 400 years, sometimes worse and sometimes better. Right now it is worse than it has been in a long time. I hope we can begin to wash it out in November.
I am truely horrified at the current situation. I would however not agree with your statement that if you are white we will never have to worry. My nephew (16 years old) is mixed race, and has been stopped in his own neighborhood by police because a neighbor thought he was casing houses, when he was selling candy raising money for his band trip to NY. I worry about him when he is out. This needs to end, and it grieves my heart to see US going backwards.
I brought my kids up to respect all people, all religions and cultures and it is heartbreaking to see the violence. I lived right next to the Watts riots in LA and saw tanks rolling in the streets. I saw the freeways vacant except for convoys of military men. It seems we have not progressed at all since those days in the 60's. Voting this disgusting crew of Republicans out in Nov is our only hope!!!!
Tee, my heart aches deeply for all who are suffering now and in in the past these horrid injustices. I have been blessed to have been brought up to see the good and great in all. As time goes on I realize more and more what a gift that was. It shouldn't be. It should just be normal and every day for all of us. May the heavens bring about change. I really believe most people are good and we do want this.
Aw, Tee. My heart is breaking for America. I love you, and I know you know that.
